The Sons of The American Legion, with the assistance of The Legion and Auxiliary, were delighted to once again host 50 Coast Guard recruits for Thanksgiving Dinner at The Post. The recruits were treated to a full Police and Fire Escort from the Welcome Center to The Post in the morning. They were greeted by numerous members of The Legion Family. Delicious food was coupled with visits from members of The Post, Councilman Dave Winslow, and Mayor Jay Gillian. Moose, the service dog, was again a huge hit! The recruits enjoyed shuffleboard, pool, cornhole, and darts, and even figured out how to turn the TV into a Karaoke machine!

The event was again captured by 6 Action News (the 5 o'clock broadcast) and The Press of Atlantic City.
A huge thank you to the Thanksgiving Committee members and the volunteers who fed and catered to our guests! Blitz's Market owner, Dave Newman, (pictured below accepting a Post Award) is a rock star!

Yesterday's event was a prime example of the strength and capabilities of our Legion Family. With deep appreciation and anticipation for next year!
Respectfully,
