Good friend of the Post, Eamonn Tohill, along with his two daughters (Rosa, 7, and Rori, 6) and his wife, Colleen, paid a visit to Wesley Manor during the Christmas Holiday. The family spent time with about 40 Veterans, and each enjoyed a cupcake from Messina's Bakery in Havertown, PA, and a box of candy courtesy of Squadron 524. They were escorted around the building by Squadron members Dave Garbutt, Steve Koch, and Dean Mitzel.

Rori (pink dress) and Rosa (purple dress) brought their heartwarming personalities and radiant smiles with them. Dave Garbutt (Santa hat!) and the girls stopped at the apartments to thank the Vets!
This was their second year, and Eamonn tells me that after last year, their daughters haven't stopped talking about it. He says, “It's amazing to witness the joy that the veterans get from kids showing appreciation for their service to our country. Seeing the joy the Veterans get from a tiny token of appreciation for their service and sacrifice is truly heartwarming and, hopefully, something my girls will never forget. Thank you for giving my family the privilege of visiting these true heroes. It's a truly rewarding experience on so many levels.”

One of the Veterans in residence is our own Bob Martin (blue shirt, center) enjoying the visit from Rori and Rosa, (back row) mom Colleen, Dean Mitzel, Steve Koch, and Dave Garbutt. Dean and the girls with Mom and a one of the many Veterans who were visted that day.
Many thanks to the Tohill family, especially Rosa and Rori, for taking the time to say “thank you” to our fellow Veterans!
We hope the family will be able to visit us at the Post sometime in the future. And Eamonn, please tell the girls I’m sorry it took so long to get this story into our news!!
